The selected herbs and spices are dried and then subjected to careful scrutiny strength and purity before they are approved for the Elkschnaps production.
The actual production is done with the help of the spirits company Darom in Malmö. Here are the herbs are extracted in pure alcohol to be distilled after the addition of grain alcohol 168 times. Then sugar is added as important taste and adjust the alcohol content in exactly 37%. After filtering, the Elkschnaps can finally fill in bottles - pure, clear and golden.
Elkschnaps after a successful hunt is almost a must, but he has in most contexts - not least as an ingredient for various drinks. We even enjoy it best in its original form, hot or iced for a glass of beer.
The unique taste of Elkschnaps is from a number of herbs and berries from our deep Elchwäldern, such as Cranberry, blueberry, violets, angelica, etc. We spice for example, with star anise, wormwood, St. John's and Orange. To round off, we give a few drops of rum and brandy, and finally is sugar (the sugar content 125 g per liter).
